As someone else said, basically any unknown sound is the worst. I always think it could be something bad or at least troublesome. And it’s turned out to be the case many times. And even if harmless, goddamn some sounds are annoying. There’s this sound that construction equipment makes, not exactly a backup beep, but a “bleep-bleep-bleep [pause] bleep-bleep-bleep” ad infinitum. It’s shrill and horrible, but worse, it feels like it will never stop. At an old job there was that sound happening outside for hours. Literally no one else seemed to even notice it. I was becoming so annoyed I wanted to grab some wire cutters, go outside and find the wire to the damned thing and cut it. Obviously I wouldn’t actually do that but it was so annoying I couldn’t work. No one else batted an eye. It was like a surrealist movie where the main character is going crazy. So yeah, sounds definitely bother me sometimes. I think the best sound on the other handle, is a babbling brook. Camping near one is so relaxing.

Edit: oh and specifically regarding the post itself, yeah, appliances beeping are awful, unless it’s just a single useful beep. My parents’ appliances all are constantly beeping and it drives me bananas.
