It’s been a bit since I played, but corps (the in game orgs for Eve) usually do a buy back program so players don’t handle the logistics of moving bulky items. It’s time consuming and risky for usually very low rewards.
But all players, even in an org, tend to be very market focused. Everyone is trying to acquire at the lowest price and sell at the highest.
The difference is really at the high org level. Where alliances basically have huge swathes of resources at their disposal and it’s not ships or coat which determine the outcome. It’s how many nerds can you wrangle up at one time.
I have 2 titans in the game, I would suicide ships worth more than a lot of players have in the game total just because it was fun/funny. Ship salvage just isn’t worth much to corps/alliances.
