They have accounted for clothes and height, but at the bottom they mention it could be smells. It would be ridiculous if they didn’t account for perfume and deodorants… Men wear much more neutral fragrances.
From reading the actual paper, it seems like they did take this somewhat into account, but not completely.
Are birds using their sense of smell that much? I always thought they were pretty visual and auditory, with all their sexual dimorphic colors and songs and stuff? Doesn’t answer anything tho.
