When I first moved to my current house, my wife and kid stayed at our old home to pack stuff up for the move. (I was recently injured and so not much help with physical stuff.) Most days, the first and last time I spoke out loud were the two sentences I said in my daily morning meetings.

I had also developed a bad cold or flu or similar in the timeframe. When I attended those meetings (online) I wasn’t always sure anything would come out when I opened my mouth. Sometimes I said random things beforehand to make sure my voice was going to work.

edit: I think this story is relevant, but I am a cis man. I truly apologize if this was not an appropriate place to tell my tale.
