Kids need to explore and find out for themselves what they like and what they’re capable of, but as a parent you should probably also give some guidance when appropriate. Like many things in life, balance is key. If you’re too overbearing, he’ll grow to dislike it. But if you’re too hands-off, he might not see it as a father-son thing. Try to find the happy medium.
