Parents have stopped sending their children to public schools in several townships of Yangon after the regime started stationing troops at schools again last week.
I really hope the junta is defeated and the leaders get the Gaddafi treatment. These fuckers have been a blight on their country for far too long.
I’ve been wanting these guys to chill for over 20 years. They have no chill. I’ve read so many takes on what it is they actually want, and why they keep seizing power. It seems the actual answer is that they just want power. Plain and simple.
If you’re in a position like that you cannot chill. You either cling to power at all cost or you’re going to end up getting beaten to death in a ditch. No in between. I really hope it’s the latter for those bastards.
There are huge economic advantages to their inner circles that only come with them being in complete control. These people are uses to… a certain way of doing “business”, if you can call it that. It’s all basically corruption and abuse of their position for monetary gain. A lot of cronies also prefer them over a democratic government because they can just bribe their way to get their work done. I had even heard a bit of whining even from average business owners over difficulty in procuring licenses and permissions during the demographic government rule. Granted most of them want demographics governments but some still wanna bribe their way in like before.
