Friendica and Bluesky’s AT protocol
Friendica has always stood out for being able to manage multiple communication protocols, surpassed in this only by Hubzilla (a software that I have never been able to appreciate, however).
It would be nice if Frindica could integrate Bluesky’s AT protocol as well. Do you know if there is any feasibility study on this new frontier?

@elena1806 @tobias @heluecht @notizie Not at the moment that I know of. At some point it’s supposed to allow people to set up their own instance, but at the moment it’s very much centralized on bsky.app.

@heluecht @fediversenews @tobias How can I read? I have the connector set up, but it only crossposts to bsky. Do I need to be running a development version of friendica? (I’m on 2023.05)
@goatsarah @tobias @heluecht Yes, the first stable version of the addon doesn’t have read support. You need to switch to the
develop
branch on both Friendica Core and Friendica Addon.@hypolite Ah. I think I’ll wait until it’s in stable then. Thanks.
@goatsarah The next stable release is planned for early September (hopefully).
@hypolite Something to look forward to. Love you guys! Would contribute myself if I wasn’t so utterly burned out. Your work is very much appreciated.
@goatsarah Thank you, and it’s okay, please take care of yourself!
@hypolite Thanks. Ancient history. I worked for ARM back in the 90s and early 2000s, before doing a stint in compilers, and then afterwards like many programmers, my brain rebelled against it in my 30s.
I do other stuff now. Potter occasionally with little RPi projects and the like, and, indeed, a personal Friendica server in docker on a Mac Mini M2 (on which it runs rather well)
