Looks like this is how beehaw got defederated from lemmy.world lol.
cross-posted from: https://sh.itjust.works/post/112229
I just want you all to know it was me. And I also want you to know how easy it was.
I go set up a fake email over at temp-mail.org
I made like two accounts.
One account I post picture of little PP on feminist community.
Then I post homophobic spray can on lgbt community because I know gaywallet is sensitive gay.
hours later they de-federate from lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works.
I work at reddit btw.
A house divided will fall. The fediverse was your last hope. I won. Reddit wins. I will have a job next year.
Now everyone will be forced to pay for expensive api.
@jeff @AyyLMAO @maga_force @shit that lack of indentation to indicate what’s a reply to what is horrible
Seeing green @'s in every reply from you guys sticks out like a sore thumb on this end.
@AyyLMAO your replies are stripping out everyone else from getting notifications
@lewdthewides @AyyLMAO Just a consequence of trying to make physically incompatible discussion platforms (Reddit-lite and Twitter-lite) speak the same protocol.
I don’t even know where to begin. I’d ask what you mean with “physically incompatible”, like the GUI? Trying to make two platforms speak the same protocol? Have you heard about the ActivityPub protocol and how both Lemmy and whatever you’re on currently use it? Have you checked out lemmybb, a classic bulletin-board presentation of a standard Lemmy database?
You know what, just forget about it. Let’s not interact again.
@AyyLMAO @mint okay this is so retarded that i know it’s not a troll and is legitmately serious about this.
hi, user of reddit. here on fedi we have a primarily short form and high frequency back and forth flowing conversation style structure. activitypub in fact was a nepotism trust fund weeny replacement for pshb+salmon+atom commonly referred to as “ostatus”, an offshoot of statusnet implemented by gnu social. the primary concern the network always had with apub was that it wasn’t really a protocol for federation but building blocks for making your own. this would cause things that CAN federate that really should NOT (like reddit) to do so. think what would happen if suddenly you could have twitter users jump right into your reddit thread? that’s what lemmy is, the square peg of reddit being pounding into the round hole of twitter but each are decentralized. yeah you can make them talk but from the perspective of the end user you get nothing short of a god damned inscrutiable clusterfuck of insufferable asspain and unwarranted self importance waxing on about the essential nature of topical discussion threads e.g. all your replies. all i did was link someone else that was asking what lemmy looked like and now here we are. you done being a reddit user or are we going to need to get out the medical futa ponies?
@jeff @AyyLMAO @mint
We need to build a Lemmy-Nostr bridge for a war of the opposites.
cc: @3
@mia @3 @AyyLMAO @jeff I believe it should already work as long as some nostrich manages to stumble upon the thread.

Horse btw.
@AyyLMAO >Have you heard about the ActivityPub protocol
What do you think half of the thread is discussing? My point was, different AP implementations with different purposes (in this case, Pleroma/Misskey/Mastodon/whatnot on one side, Lemmy on other) define their behavior independently. Hence the inherited mentions here and lack of them on Lemmy’s side. I don’t even mind it that much, it makes the network more fun.
>You know what, just forget about it. Let’s not interact again.
Oh well.
I’m sort of stealing/adapting Lemmy’s apub implementation for my own project and I know one of the main features of apub is to have multiple types of software being able to interact with each other and stuff, but would it be possible to just federate with instances of my own project? I don’t really want to shit up pleroma/mastodon with posts from my project
@kroner @AyyLMAO It should be. Fchan posts never federated to Pleroma, for example.
Just do whitelist-only federation?
Lemmy sort of does this with federation allow list and deny list (basically primitive MRF), but I’d rather just have federation on by default and not have posts/comments federate out to pleroma/mastodon as the threads could look weird and broken here.
I mean maybe I could integrate somehow with other projects like friendica, pixelfed, peertube, etc but idk
@mint @AyyLMAO this guy is legit fucking retarded. which is no shock because…

@jeff@federated.fun @AyyLMAO@exploding-heads.com @maga_force@exploding-heads.com @shit@sh.itjust.works @lewdthewides@hidamari.apartments Man, this was the first time I’ve been subjected to smug ledditor writing in years. Leave, nigger.
@burner @lewdthewides @maga_force @AyyLMAO @shit they’ll go back by monday. let’s have a house party until then.
@jeff@federated.fun @lewdthewides@hidamari.apartments @maga_force@exploding-heads.com @AyyLMAO@exploding-heads.com @shit@sh.itjust.works They’ll probably act like journos and talk about how decentralization is the future, then go back to their hugbox after they get called a nigger for a month straight
OOOOOO LAWWWDEMMMMM RAANNGGSSS :pepe_cringe:
Uh we don’t use that word. You’re b a n n e d .
@Owl@nicecrew.digital @jeff@federated.fun @AyyLMAO@exploding-heads.com @maga_force@exploding-heads.com @shit@sh.itjust.works @lewdthewides@hidamari.apartments I wonder if the ledditors will isolate in the same way that mastotroons have, as they are just as culturally incompatible due to their severe brainrot.
Funny. We were cast out. Redditors wall themselves off.
It’s not really relevant but it’s just a weird observation. It seems weird doesn’t it?
WOW RACISM THATS A 420 REDDIT GOLD DEDICTION THERE BUCKO - YIKES!!!
@mint @AyyLMAO @lewdthewides i am sure they’ll be annoyed enough to just go back on monday.
@mint@ryona.agency @AyyLMAO@exploding-heads.com @lewdthewides@hidamari.apartments can’t you create per-thread inbox/outbox/whatever purely in terms of AP so that it would be truly instance-agnostic?
@pomstan @AyyLMAO @lewdthewides In all AP impelmentations I’ve seen inboxes/outboxes are actor-bound if an instance-wide inbox isn’t being used. There are no separate fields for inboxes in objects, so making a thread-wide inbox would require making that thread an AP actor.
@lewdthewides @AyyLMAO Maybe it’s because the nature of the Reddit-style reply, he only mentions the one above. To tag the rest he needs to do it manually.
LAW DEM RANNNNGGSSS :yotsuba_cry:
@lewdthewides @AyyLMAO @maga_force @shit oh no it does indent, just by like 3 pixels.
@lewdthewides @AyyLMAO @maga_force @jeff Replies are clearly offset from each other by a few pixels, same as on any other site with tree comments (Reddit, HN, Habr, whatever) and Pleroma-FE’s very own tree-style comment mode.
@mint @AyyLMAO @maga_force @jeff @lewdthewides yeah it’s noticeable
@mischievoustomato @AyyLMAO @maga_force @jeff @lewdthewides @mint barely.
@pettanko @AyyLMAO @maga_force @jeff @lewdthewides @mint i can!
@lewdthewides @AyyLMAO @maga_force @jeff I’m iffy on the lemmy UI but it’s serviceable. kbin’s is more pleasant to the eye.
