    Even though Microsoft still installs it with M365 only for it to tell you to use teams instead.

    Maybe they fixed it now but it still did that sometimes a few months ago. I’ve removed skype like 3 times on my work computer.

    No windows at home, except the glass kind. :)

      This really depends on how your admin has configured it to deploy, it’s installed with an XML file that has configurations on what features to install. Skype for business still exists for the few customers using the onprem sfb server, latest one being released 2025.

      However if your admin has moved you all to teams, then Skype will tell you to open teams instead

        I’m the admin. It’s just a direct install via the web download, I don’t bother using the deployment toolkit for our own installs. I do for customers though. I test the pain that the average person would have to endure.

        Also yes Skype is unusable on our tenant, but it still gets brought back via updates.

            I’m pointing out that by default Microsoft still installs it as part of the suite even though it is useless, as with half of Windows these days.
