That last one really gets down to rituals some in the human world partake in. Never been a big proponent of CBT myself (it is too easily used to lead astray folks into things like ABA without empathy or little sheldons thinking they’re so smart for trying to shape another), but if the mentality is present in multiple species, maybe there’s something to it.
