Nobody deleted Telegram when they added ads to channels. Nobody will delete WhatsApp unless the ads are particularly bad.

As long as Facebook doesn’t add full screen video ads, I doubt anyone will care. In fact, I’ll trust WhatsApp more if they can come up with a business plan that doesn’t involve giving away free service to billions of people.

People don’t like paying for apps they use (how many privacy nerds here have actually bought Threema?) but I’m sure there will be some kind of “pay a dollar a month to disable ads” system for people who are sick of ads everywhere.
