A peaceful rally was met with violence when federal agents unleashed tear gas, rubber bullets, and other munitions on Portlanders, including young children, highlighting the deepening militarization of law enforcement and the community’s unwavering resistance.
Um, I’m just gonna assume you weren’t there. Because there were a lot of union leaders who are proud of their workers who came here from somewhere else and were legally here with valid work credentials until the Pedo Premier decided they weren’t anymore.
The rally was massive and I streamed the whole thing: https://youtube.com/live/G-GiIKxvdCg
…y’know, if you want facts about what was there rather than lame and bigoted suppositions.
Stream does cut out a couple of places for a few seconds because I’m on T-Mobile and the signal is ass down here. I’m a legally blind guy on zero budget here. And I just found out that after months of being out at the ICE building, they’ve started clusterbombing tear gas and flash bang grenades. I’ve got hearing protection, but no respirator yet.
Capitalists generally want illegal immigrants because of basic labor economics:
If your labor union is supporting illegals and/or opposing immigration control, your union is working on behalf of the capitalists rather than you.
Ah yes that’s what Unions should be about. Dividing people.
No mate a workers a worker a worker. Don’t like that undocumented people are paid less? Sounds like another good reason to get them documented. The immigrant worker is as much of an ally as any other
Making illegals legal still increases the labor supply which causes fewer jobs to be available and wages to be lower. If you want fewer job openings and wages to be lower, you should support immigration. This basic supply and demand chart demonstrates how increasing labor supply (immigrants) reduces wages.
These are people.
