I obtained a recent release (like, not even been 24 hours) and the quality is shitty. That’s normal, that’s expected, it’s probably someone with a camera in the movie theater. However I want to ask…
How long does it usually take however for pirate versions of movies to approach anywhere near streaming service quality?
There’s been a few movies where it’s like almost instantly. Sometimes the screeners get leaked, and they tend to be higher quality. Final release quality is usually just before they start coming out for sale on the Google Play/Amazon stores, or when they start playing in the secondary market budget theaters. If you have one of those nearby, when you see they are playing the movie you are after, start looking for a higher quality dl
Like everyone else said, when it gets released on streaming or physical.
For the Minecraft movie we saw a version that was missing visual effects and had real people heads on villagers.
as soon as the content is released on a streaming platform.
That, or a few days or weeks before the blu rays officially release.
They have to get to streaming services.
Once there, streaming quality rips are easy to find.
You’re getting it for free, be patient. You likely have a cam release. Telesync is a bit better quality typically (sound is typically better). Anything better takes time

It’s H free, not HD.
I would wait until it’s out on physical or streaming tbh. Sometimes you get lucky and there’s a press or awards release before then, but they’re often annoyingly watermarked. Once it hits streaming you only have to wait as long as it takes for someone to rip it
Which is anywhere between 5 seconds and 10 seconds. At least for the popular content.
From a few weaks to a few months. In my experience it is about a month in average, but can vary a lot.
