Considering Russian is not only spoken in Russia but also in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan, what would be the safest country to travel to where you can speak Russian? Probably not Russia or Ukraine because of the war but yeah.

Russian is the second most commonly spoken language in Ukraine, and your opinion that speaking it is “pissing on their culture” puts you in league with the far right who were doing ethnic cleansing in that country since 2014. Reconsider your opinions.

It’s Zelensky’s first language, even. I think he avoids it now, but if it’s that or English I would hope there’d be no judgement.

Edit: And it shares a lot of vocabulary and ~all grammar with Russian anyway.
