      I think that’s an HP dock off to the right given that the mouse and keyboard are wired into something over there. Could just be that the TV is fixed to the wall and not in a good position.

      Ugh, maybe it’s my bad luck, but this only works in half the hotel rooms I come to. The other half have the TV built into some kind of cabinet blocking the ports, or mounted high on a wall where my cable is too short to reach, or locked down with some software so I can’t connect my own devices.

        In my experience the “cable box” in the rooms are almost always accessible just unplug the HDMI from it and use that. Then you don’t even have to figure out what button on the remote or tv changes inputs.
