Despite this not being FOSS like GIMP, I think it’s great that there is at least some very viable alternative that can run on Linux even with some workaround, for free (besides Photopea).

Fuck bending over backwards to accommodate them, they can do a Linux release or GTFO, does not have to be FOSS, just native

I used to use Affinity Publisher and Design all the time back when i was on Windows, now I just use Inkscape and Scribus

Years later, still trying to get my head around Lightroom changing to Darktable because DT is so much more powerful and Itm a fuckibg lazy idiot but that’s Adobe.

does not have to be FOSS

I’m basically not interested in software anymore if it’s not FLOSS. I don’t even mess with non-free source-available software or proprietary freeware anymore.

You don’t have to be elitist about it though. Most people find switching to Linux difficult because of no immediate good alternatives. Having at least something even if not FOSS or native helps immensely

While I agree with a native port. I think work around like this is also good too since it shows demand. I mean it’s why there is a good level of hype around Linux Gaming thanks to Steam and its Proton compatibility layer.

So long as Affinity isn’t blocked from running like what adobe does. I think this is fine until a universal binary is possible.

Publisher and Design are such great pieces of software. It really hurt my soul when I had to abandon them as I moved to Linux:(
