Pro-Palestine rally: Cease genocide and follow international law

    Pro-Israel rally: Kill all Palestinians

You know, I can kind of see why this is tricky for so many.

I also wonder what all these folks think their own reaction would be if people from half a world away came over, colonized us, stuck us in an open air prison and then treated us as horrifically as the Palestinians have been treated. Aren’t there literally movies and games about America being invaded and the invaders treated as the bad guys?

Seriously, I would love for all anti-Palestine reporters to be asked point blank what they would do if they endured what the Palestinians had to endure.

There is zero possibility that Israel will be destroyed.

There is a serious possibility that Gaza is going to be destroyed.

      It’s really not the same.

Yeah its like the difference between saying ‘I hope Britain won’t be a country anymore’ and ‘I hope Ukraine won’t be a country anymore’. One of those countries has no worries at all about sovereignty, the other not so much.

The land will be there, but every inch of infrastructure and every structure will be rubble and the people will either be removed or exterminated.

They’ll probably change the name too.

What is more scary to me than some people fighting halfway across the world is how quickly people get so worked up over it. There are 14 other conflicts happening throughout the world that are similar in scale but you never hear about them because they are relatively poor countries. Humans have fought each other all throughout our history. Guess what? It still happens. It is quite simply decades of propaganda that causes such an intense reaction to an event like this. People only care about this because the people in charge of their media bubbles want them to care about it.

Yes, Hamas did a bad thing. No one is denying that. But take a step back and look at the context of the past 20 years. Israel has done many bad things to Palestine over the past years. Israel has killed ~10k+ Palestinians in the past 20 years vs the ~1k the Israelis that Palestinians have killed.

It is not surprising that pissed off enough Palestinians to convince them to do something about it. It is only surprising if you are only seeing tiny snippets of the big picture fed to you by one of the parties supporting the conflict.

Lol what does that change? She’s advocating for the people of Palestine? Then this event happens and she says don’t celebrate the murder of people. Her position is clear and makes sense, less violence more helping people.

This shit makes complete sense. How are any of you confusing this?

        Virtue signaling.

If you don’t support the only existing material force fighting for Palestinians, you don’t support Palestinian rights. We can’t idealistically pray for some magic solution to Israeli occupation. We have to live in the material world, where resistance are messy and people are imperfect.

So, much like her socialism, these words are all an act to sheepdog radicals into the Democratic Party. That’s her job.

Without violence, Israel’s genocide would march forward unimpeded. Is that what you want? Do you want every Palestinian dead?

Violence is their only choice. That’s sad and terrible, but we shouldn’t condemn resistance fighters for fighting back against occupation and settlement the only way they can.

I bet you support Ukraine. What’s the difference between Russia seizing Crimea and the Donbass, and Israel seizing more and more land over the past 70 years? Do an occupied people not have a right to defend themselves?

I’m Irish, and I can tell you that my people fought a violent and bloody revolution against the strongest empire in the world, and they did so without going on a rampage of indiscriminately killing innocent civilians, women, children and family pets.

You can support rights and sovereignty for Palestine without justifying the evil terrorists actions of Hamas over the weekend. If anything Hamas has now done more damage to the Palestinian cause than anything in history.

Did you read the page you listed? Do you understand the history you’re citing? Do you understand how these IRA bombings were completely different than the rampage Hamas did over the weekend?

The answer to all of those questions is a resounding “no”.

5 August 1969 - RTÉ Studio bombing: The Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF) detonated a bomb at Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) headquarters in Donnybrook, Dublin, Republic of Ireland, causing significant damage.[2]

In your first shitty example, the British loyalist UVF from Northern Ireland bombed an Irish radio station. Nobody was injured.

11 August – 1970 Crossmaglen bombing: Two Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) officers were killed by a booby-trap car bomb exploded in Crossmaglen, County Armagh. They were the first RUC victims of the IRA.[3]

In your next bad example, the IRA bombed the northern Irish “police”, who were literally an active part in the oppression campaign and should not be considered innocent civilians.

I mean, should I go on?

The IRA unfortunately did kill innocent people and even children at points during the troubles, but they never did so intentionally or indiscriminately going on a rampage like we just saw Hamas do. As bad as the war and the troubles were the IRA never did anything even remotely analogous to what Hamas just did. What’s more, the British occupation killed far more Irish than the Irish ever killed Brits, fyi.

You should learn about history before you try to cite it, especially as a justification for today’s atrocities.

She’s advocating for less violence. Period fullstop and she always does. Makes sense.

Palestinians responding with violence makes sense.

I do support Ukraine but Ukraine did not invade a Russian place and attack citizens and innocents and defenseless people. So these are not the same.

This whole situation is fucked but you’re not gonna play this fucking game and pull it apart in one side or the other, you qre the problem. I support the innocent people. Fuck Israel’s current regime, fuck people who shoot other people. Fuck rapists.

What you’re seeing is trauma being radicalized into violence. This attack likely was supported by foreign aid likely Iranian maybe further.

So this is actually what resistance looks like with foreign aid.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Several people at a pro-Israel protest in New York City called for the Gaza Strip to be “flattened” and for genocide against Palestinians, according to a viral video.

“At a Pro-Israel protest in New York City, Zionist activists spoke with me and explicitly called for Arab/ Palestinian genocide,” reporter Jeremy Loffredo wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter, alongside the video on Tuesday.

Israel has also stopped the entry of food, fuel and medicine into Gaza, a tiny territory of 2.3 million people—half of them children.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday said what Israel “will do to our enemies in the coming days will reverberate with them for generations.”

A second man at the protest is seen holding up a phone with photos showing what Gaza looks like today and another portraying the area flattened.

The demonstration in support of Palestinians was condemned by Democratic New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who described it as “abhorrent and morally repugnant.”

The original article contains 629 words, the summary contains 161 words. Saved 74%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

There is blame on both sides here. What HAMAS did was abhorrent, egregious war crimes. They should be brought to justice. But we have ignored the war crimes Israel has committed consistently for years now. Two wrongs do not make a right.

It also needs to be recognised that HAMAS have done this to prevent closer ties. They did not like how SA were in talks with Israel. Without conflict HAMAS has no reason to be here. Any actions Israel take need to understand that this would be playing straight to the outcome HAMAS wants. HAMAS are showing they are nothing more than a group of gangsters, who depend on the conflict to keep themselves in power.

Palestine needs a two state solution. One that does not involve in one nation subjugating the other. Israel needs its security. The UN needs to step up and start playing a role in this. We cannot continue to resort to wars to resolve differences.

Hindsight is always a wonderful thing. The Taliban were created or at the very least heavily supported by the CIA. Iran is a result of US interference in the ruling of the country. The West are funding Ukraine in a big way, and yet we were critical of certain practises very recently. Ukraine in turn are supplying weapons to Russian revolutionaries.

It is easy to be critical after the smoke is cleared. The reality is that if you arm and train a group then they become a weapon. You only have good faith that this weapon will not be turned on yourself.

You are falling for atrocity propaganda

And on what authority can you say what did or did not happen? Were you there?

I have zero credibility to say what actually happened, and neither do you.

But you are now asking people to disbelieve their own eyes and ears, because it’s 2023 and (un)fortunately many of these atrocities have been caught on camera. Most of it’s on tape my man.

          Palestinian freedom fighters

Nobody was fighting for Palestinian freedom in this weekend’s terrorist attack. You don’t win your freedom by indiscriminately massacring innocent civilians. Anybody with more than two neurons can see that Palestine is worse off today than it was a week ago thanks to the actions of Hamas terrorists.
