      It’s people captured by capitalist cultural norms (including things like the protestant work ethic).

      Of which many are boomers, but not all. And there are some boomers who escaped it.

        I was told it was actually a good thing that I’m currently doing the work of five people–while the federal government is still deciding we don’t actually need to hire people–because everyone will notice and I’ll definitely get a raise and a promotion.

        When I do get a raise and promotion it’ll be because of the one or two more important projects I haven’t been able to work on because of less important but more urgent tasks that I would normally delegate. So technically, I’m not even performing at my current level.
