Reptiles were around at the same time as dinosaurs and evolved independently. Birds are the only direct descendents of dinosaurs. Reptiles were around at the same time as dinosaurs and evolved independently. There are huge differences, scales instead of skin and feathers, cold blooded instead of warm, etc.
