I occasionally check in on /b to see where the trend is, how open the white supremacy is and how much everyone hates / loves Trump (the vitriol is distilled and corrosive).
Also how convincing the lifelike AI art / video is, which is one of those bleeding-edge hallmarks of cyberpunk. (Observing the rule that any new art medium will first be used for porn and then for malice before it drifts into the mainstream toolbox)
that would be my father in my case. he found Q-anon there in its infancy and is convinced that he is working for trump to break up pedophile rings. another one of those pedos that pretend they care about children (in non-sexual ways).
I was there in the first Qanon post. I thought it was a genius troll and made a few bait posts myself. Then all the normies came over and started talking about bread on facebook. That’s when I knew the containment had been breached and we were in for a wild few years…
That actually seems really scary, I’m thankful that the only people I know who were affiliated with 4chan are people I only know online or don’t live anywhere near me.
