I know exactly what this actually means and it’s real, but Jesus Christ can they please not write headlines that make us sound as stupid as we are in right wing imaginations?

Be careful agreeing with this post. OP is posting a lot of racist, ableist and bigoted content

Title of article, when I view it, is

A New Study Details a Startling Air Pollution Racial Gap

      https://www.motherjones.com/environment/2014/04/air-pollution-racial-disparities-nitrogen-dioxide/

So, did OP change title, or did the article change title in the decade since it was posted?

But yeah — the premise is ridiculous only if you deny systemic racism. If you accept that, then (awkward “title” notwithstanding…) this is pretty clearly the case: economic stratification isn’t just “my home is bigger than yours,” it’s “my home is further from the freeway than yours” or, if you like, “living in my home is healthier than living in your home.”

If I had to guess based on that sub-headline, I’d assume that this probably is about some disparity in air quality in areas predominantly populated by different groups of people, and using a headline like this as a sort of clickbait to get people who would see that and go “Oh, so they think air is racist now, how absurd” to share and look at it. In any case, if it is indeed pointing out some systemic disparity like that, then that isnt the same thing as saying that everyone on the more fortunate end is personally racist in their opinions, just that a difference in average life circumstances exists.

yes it’s outrage bait to get people to read it. kinda sad that that’s what people have to resort to nowadays.
