I agree with most of this. To me, the soul-crushing part isn’t doing menial tasks to keep society chugging along, it’s doing them in the cheapest shittiest possible way. It’s doing them that way not because we have to, or to serve the most amount of people, but to ensure we can deliver the biggest pile of gold to the shitstain at the top.

If I have to choose between them spending the money on the fight scenes and the conversations, I’ll pretty much always choose the fight scenes. It wouldn’t be great having them overanimated when talking to each other and then cutting to some panning shots of the battle or something.

The other fights have given us some clues about what’s happening being the scenes, so I’m confident even if we do end up turning spriggan into a pincushion we’ll get some more information about where it came from.
