Serious question: how to give back to those people? I struggle to understand sometimes how I can be a good friend to them.

Depends on the person. A lot of the time patience and understanding is a huge thing. It may seem small, but when the whole world seems like it’s hellbent on misunderstanding you, and taking you in bad faith, it can make a huge difference.

I can totally relate to that and I think I fail at being patient mainly. Now I have every reason to try even harder

Not speaking for all of them but sometimes just feeling good about yourself is enough. You can even tell them how you appreciate their efforts (assuming you do)

Will keep that in mind. It just feels like not enough? I would like to give them that feeling back somehow

Holy cow! Formerly gifted, burned out, rain, books, injustice.

Checks all the boxes for me. Why these specific things? Eery!
