Niantic has announced multiple new features that will affect the way PokeStops work in Pokemon GO. The features are already being tested out in one region of the world and will potentially have a full launch across Pokemon GO soon.
The only feature mentioned is something like the old Bug Catching Contest—
“The new addition in question is PokeStop Showcases, which will allow trainers to show off Pokemon with special attributes like size and weight in exchange for prizes.”
…? Who cares? Genuinely. Go is too centric on needing perfect IVs; looking at how in supposed to play and what that means, from a time sink perspective, feels super antagonistic. Adding in a feature that encourages me to cram otherwise-useless ‘Mons into such a limited storage…… feels like I’m supposed to buy more storage. 😒 I’d rather play Peridot.
Haven’t played since 2020 (thanks pandemic for helping me <3) and it was already pretty shitty then.
They had a nice resurgence in 2019 (when I started playing) and took that as an incentive to nickel and dime even more
