Some people really be seeing genocide images and saying “yeah this is why the left lost an election”, then complaining there’s not enough nuance in the Israel/Palestine discourse when their shit take is called out for being a shit take.

This one was made in reaction to Contrapoints’ take on the topic, but sadly, it’s not just her.

She doesn’t really seem to be saying there’s much nuance. What she is saying is she doesn’t know how to make an entertaining video with the mess, she doesn’t want to accidentally contribute to anti-semitism (by having it lumped in with anti-Zionism), and she feels like just screaming about it online doesn’t actually help Palestinians. You can argue about whether these points should really stop her from making a video, but it doesn’t mean she thinks Israel is justified from some angle.

My issue is “the real issue is people who are doing activism wrong (but I won’t do any activism on this topic myself)” and the whole bit about hurting zionist feelings.

Being a jew who lost a lot of his sense of community as zionism took over following oct. 7, I don’t like her take at all.

Dont worry I’m sure the EU/US condemning netenyahu the 34861th time will fix this, I’m sure of it

Honestly I’m not surprised they’re doing jackshit, after all, why would the US/EU want to sanction its own colony in the middle east?

This is pure propaganda to slander the Israel army. They do not drop bombs on kids standing in open fields. They drop bombs on hospitals and homes to make sure that one bomb kills more than 1 child and even if it doesn’t kill them, it destroys the economy.

Yeah, they’re not that wasteful with the bombs we buy them!

This meme is totally ignorant slander against israel.

That child would be gut/genital shot by a sniper and left screaming to attract medics for a secondary strike. Obviously. It’s an open field.

Yeah was just a quickie that I sketched in a hurry so I could post it in a Reddit thread… but the thread got locked before I could.

Said thread (warning, links to Reddit) : “canceled for nuance”

Otherwise I’d have added all the crumbling buildings, bomb craters, and a whole family of kids. Sadly, that’s how it really is.

Gosh some of my siblings keep going on about nuance and how well researched they are (implying I am not) and then telling me palestinians are just as bad as israel (they both do violence, and violence is always bad actually 🙄)

I get that it’s a slight against enlightened centrists huffing on their “civilized debate” fumes they just breathed out, but how much does it really matter?

It’s not like if everyone magically acknowledged that Israel is committing a genocide, we’re all going to organize just for that and overthrow our bourgeoisie states just for funding them. Having a couple more activists doing adventurism or protests won’t do anything either as history shows time and time again (in fact, the former tends to make things worse).

Both workers and influencers are powerless in this regard, unless the state of current things changes.
