Meh finale. Explained nothing. Reminds me of the disappointment that was the nokotan finale. Maybe comedy animes are just bad at ending things? But if just felt unsatisfying as a series finale, and didn’t live up to the buildup. If only there were more than three translated manga chapters.

There is a chance for a season 2, as the original manga has 70 chapters, and the three that are translated cover roughly the first 2 episodes, as the showrunners added stuff to better fit the new format. So I presume only half the manga is adapted. It is somehow the sixth most popular show of the season in japan, the most important region (the japanese do truly love cute things, lol), so it is possible.

    spoiler

    After a tense buildup,

…what a mellow and fun finale.

Okay, it didn’t make sense for every single one of the characters to be getting along and having fun, and I was expecting a plot bomb to drop at any moment…

    But maybe that’s the point.

Maybe this world is one where weekly clashes between a villain and magical girl somehow generate profit, while “evil” is done, nobody’s really harmed.

That’s all fine, and enjoy the show everyone.

Maybe that’s the whole thing and there doesn’t need to be anything else.

Note: That touristy thing they were doing is the “Netsu No Yu” dance at the Kusatsu onsen/hot springs
